What About Youth Survey – your input is needed on potential outputs - response by 6th March 2015

The What About YOUth? (WAY) is a new survey of 15 year olds, commissioned by the Department of Health to collect national and local level data on a range of topics relating to the health of young people. The survey covers a range of topics, such as smoking, alcohol, drug use, emotional well-being, bullying, diet, use of free time and physical activity.

Results from the survey will be used to publish a short report covering the smoking prevalence findings in August 2015, followed by a main report in December 2015. Data will be available at Local Authority level so the Department of Health would really value your help with the planned content of the main report and other outputs. They are keen to hear your views on these planned outputs and would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete a short survey to help them understand your preferences. You can complete the survey online. The survey is open until Friday 6th March.

The first set of questions ask about the WAY survey outputs generally and then some specific questions related to the planned indicators are asked. You may find it helpful to familiarise yourself with the WAY questionnaire first before proceeding with the survey which is available on request from the Health and Social Centre by emailing survey.queries@hscic.gov.uk. More information about the WAY 2014 Survey can be found in this link: http://www.whataboutyouth.com/, and a list of the topics is available in the Parent FAQs.
