The Department for Communities and Local Government is updating the indices of deprivation, including the Index of Multiple Deprivation, for publication in summer 2015. They recently consulted on final proposals for updating the indices, and a response to the consultation has now been published here. In summary there was a high level of support for the proposed changes to indicators for this update of the indices of deprivation and the department will implement these changes.
The updated Indices will be published in summer 2015, with a provisional release month of July. The department will confirm the exact publication date at least four weeks in advance, and the date will be posted on the statistics release calendar and the indices collection page. An email alert will be sent to registered users once the date is announced. Users can register for e-mail alerts via the indices collection page.
