MAX is a new project funded by the Department of Health via the Quality and Outcomes of Person-centred Care Policy Research Unit (QORU). The aim of this project is to find ways to maximise the value of the Adult Social Care Survey (ASCS) and Personal Social Services Survey of Adult Carers in England (PSS SACE) for local authorities. The Maximising the value of survey data in adult social care (MAX) project aims to find ways to help local authorities (LAs) make more use of data from the Adult Social Care Survey (ASCS) and Personal Social Services Survey of Adult Carers in England (PSS SACE or Carers survey) to inform local service delivery. The findings from earlier project activities, which were completed by 139 staff from 95 LAs, have been used to develop a draft MAX toolkit covering the three main ASCS and PSS SACE stages (preparation, data analysis and interpretation and reporting).
To ensure that the toolkit is relevant, valuable, practical and accessible to LAs that will use them the MAX project team are currently inviting LA staff associated with the ASCS and/or PSS SACE to take part in a consultation over the next couple of months. LA staff involved in the consultations will have early access to draft elements of the MAX toolkit and will have numerous opportunities to have their say in how the tools – or alternative tools – are refined.
