About Transforming Care

The LGA is working with key national organisations to support delivery of the Transforming Care programme, aimed at improving care and support for people with a learning disability and/or autism who display behaviour that challenges, including those with a mental health condition.

Assistant Director - Transforming Care: Fixed Term until 31st March 2019

An exciting, high profile opportunity for a talented, motivated professional to make a real national strategic difference to the care and support of people with a learning disability and/or autism who display behaviour that challenges. The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking to recruit a dynamic professional to lead and shape a collaborative approach to the implementation of Transforming Care and systems reform to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and/or autism.

The successful candidate will provide senior representation for the LGA, working with key national partners, including NHS England, ADASS and the Department of Health, to support the development and design of the Transforming Care programme, and using their skills to create innovative solutions to complex issues.

Regional Senior Advisers (9 posts): Fixed Term opportunity until 31 March 2019

The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking to recruit a talented and dynamic professional to lead and shape a collaborative approach to the implementation of Transforming Care and systems reform to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and/or autism. The role is home-based but will link to the relevant NHS regional office and ADASS branch office, and involve travel to attend meetings. The successful applicant will work on behalf of the LGA to support local implementation of Transforming Care and the transformation of care, support and housing services to improve the outcomes and experiences of people and their families; the role will be pivotal in working with councils and partners to fully realise this ambition.
