Sustainable project management and the global to do list

Events - Public

Starting 04 Apr 2024 - 18:00 through to 04 Apr 2024 - 21:00

During this event, Dr Tammi Sinha will outline the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the circular economy as outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Sustainability in the project profession is an approach to business that balances the environmental, social, economic aspects of project-based working to meet the current needs of stakeholders without compromising or overburdening future generations.

This interactive workshop will include some participation and teamwork to take on a sustainability challenge.  The outputs of the challenge will show how project professionals can achieve SDGs by carrying out lean principles (value, value stream, flow, pull and perfection) and green pillars (the economy, society and the environment) in their roles and daily lives.

Lego serious play will be used to explore the landscape of responsible project management and the UNSDGs. Participants will be introduced to the UNSDGs and the responsible project management manifesto, we will then lead them through a series of challenges linking core project management principles with the UNSDGs. Starting with LSP skills building, building, storytelling and bricks as metaphors.  Participants will leave with an action list to help weave sustainability more fully with project management.
