Harms related to gambling can have a huge impact on the finances of those impacted, sometimes causing them to go deeper into debt.

 

What is this session about?

In this event you’ll learn the impact of gambling and how to identify the signs of gambling and where to signpost those who are affected by gambling

This event will cover:

 

  • How gambling impacts the brain and the wellbeing of a person who gambles
  • What a gambling addiction is
  • How to spot the signs of a gambling-related financial harm
  • The real impact that gambling gambling harms can have on a person and their families
  • How to support and refer someone to specialist services refer if you suspect they may be experiencing gambling harms

Who is this session for?

Money guiders who are dealing with or may come into contact with clients who may be vulnerable, susceptible or impacted by gambling addictions

D3. Providing support within the limits of your role

• Knowledge of local and/or national organisations to which customers can be signposted or referred.

• Knowledge of any relationships between the practitioner organisation and other external organisations and agencies to which customers can be signposted or referred.

  • Signpost the customer to appropriate sources of further information or support, in line with organisational procedures.
