Overview

This one day course is intended to provide delegates with a practical guide to the assessment of food labels.

Who should attend?

The course will be of interest to Trading Standards and Environmental Health professionals whose work involves food standards official controls.

Prior working knowledge of food information legislation is preferred but as this is a small-group, those new to the topic will find the session helpful.

What does the course include?

This is a small-group seminar and each delegate is provided with a detailed assessment checklist and accompanying guidance notes. They will be taken through the checklist with reference to practical examples of compliance/non-compliance.

The session will include practical guidance on the use of mandatory details as well as nutrition and health claims and other claims made on foods. Labelling of foods and food supplements will be included.

Tutor

The seminar will be led by Dr Andy Bowles.

The venue

The course will be held at Norwich City Football Club in the ABC Food law Executive Box.
