Care Worker

The UK’s health and social care system has become dominated by targets, command and control culture with human interaction boiled down to tasks and time.

Ruth Hannan will discuss how new models emerging in the UK of self-managing teams (such as Helen Sanderson’s Wellbeing Teams) offer an opportunity to create stronger systems, built on human interaction with those in need of support and those directly providing it at the heart of the model.

Explore the radical notion that those who need support know what’s best, that those supporting them have the skills to make decisions and that systems need time to learn and ensure the human remains at the heart.
