Our Homes were central to protecting the NHS during lockdown. The preventative role of housing has never been more obvious. What is more, workers on the frontline were incredibly quick to adapt to the crisis and adopt new ways of working.

Recovery from the immediate challenge and contingencies of the pandemic is likely to take 18 months or more. In that time, there are real opportunities to Reset and mainstream some of the urgent responses the sector has found to keep people safe. The COVID-19 crisis provided an opportunity to embed a step change to services able to Regenerate communities and produce better outcomes. In other words, it provides an opportunity for a reset across the whole system. Housing is central to that reset as staying home protected the NHS and saved lives.

The conference will be introduced by Luke Hall MP, Minister for Rough Sleeping and Housing. Joining us to reflect on opportunities to RECOVER, RESET, REGENERATE are our key speakers:

James Bullion, ADASS President

Alex Fox OBE, CEO of Shared Lives

Bruce Moore, CEO of Housing 21

Chris Naylor, Senior Fellow at The King’s Fund

There will be opportunities to engage with practitioners from across the health, housing and social care system who will be sharing their experiences and innovations.

Topics will cover (but are not limited to):

  • The mobilisation of coordinated Housing, Community Voluntary and Statutory services.
  • Opportunities to transform care at home where outcomes in the pandemic have been demonstrably better
  • The experience of supporting 1200 homeless people across London into temporary accommodation
  • Effective remote support and assessments
  • Housing with care learning under COVID.
  • Designing buildings with people and communities rather than for them.

RECOVERY, RESET and REGENERATION is hosted in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government which will welcome the ideas and reflections generated by participants.

RECOVERY, RESET and REGENERATION aims to provide a truly interactive experience for Housing, Health and Care practitioners and policy makers with opportunities to vote, comment, question and network virtually
