The Covid-19 pandemic has forced governments across the world to rapidly change the way they operate, resulting in some incredible innovations: from mask and hand sanitiser vending machines in Poland to robotic dogs maintaining social distancing in Singaporean parks.

As we begin to look towards recovery, it’s time to think about what this period of innovation has taught us and how to maintain this spirit of innovation going forward.

WHO YOU’LL HEAR FROM:

Stephanie Wade is the Lead for Innovation and Design at Bloomberg Philanthropies where she helps cities around the world tackle their toughest challenges and create innovative cultures, services, products, and policies that improve people’s lives. Previously, Stephanie served as the Director of an Innovation Lab in the U.S. Federal Government.

Tina Walha is director of the Seattle i-team where she leads a multi-disciplinary team that works to use data and design to establish creative solutions to problems. Previously Tina served as a policy advisor for Michael Bloomberg, New York City Mayor and worked in the private sector in management consulting.

Dan Hymowitz is director of the Baltimore i-team. Dan has previously worked as a Senior Advisor at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change where he worked with presidents and governments in Africa with the international development community. He has also held various positions as an advisor to crisis management task forces.

Anne-Marie Croce is the Program Manager for the Toronto i-team where she integrates Human Centred Design and innovation principles throughout the organisation. Prior to this Anne-Marie worked as a Senior Associate and Research Analyst for the City of Toronto.
