Adversity, Trauma and Resilience:

Why we need a national response plan to address the psychosocial aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic

featuring

Dr Warren Larkin

Director Warren Larkin Associates

Visiting Professor University of Sunderland and Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Social and psychological problems have been increasing considerably since the coronavirus pandemic, with rising levels of mental health difficulties, isolation and loneliness, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol problems.

In this free online seminar Warren will explore the potential impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and other traumatising life events. He will discuss trauma-informed practice and address some myths and controversies about the ACES movement and explain what the ACE Enquiry is and why it’s important.  Warren will also define ‘resilience’ and explore the research evidence and implications for practice.

Warren will then consider the psychological and social aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic and what response is required
