This webinar will introduce how psychology and cognitive bias affects what we think we know and how we make decisions. It is based on research by Kevin and his team, and surveys of almost 700 professionals during the first half of 2020.

It will cover the impact of the way that we estimate and make decisions on outcomes and benefits realisation, what was the result of the research by Kevin and his team as well as some practical ideas to improve our influence and effectiveness.

Kevin Parry

Kevin Parry FAPM, is a consultant and author who has previously worked on major programmes throughout the UK, Europe and Asia as a Programme Director and Consulting Director.

Kevin is a visiting academic at the University of Manchester School of Science and Technology, where he teaches on the MSc in the Management of Projects. He is c-author of the Kogan Page book “Managing Organisational Change” has written articles for Project Magazine and on LinkedIn.com and holds post-graduate diplomas in Management and Company Direction.

Since May 2018 he has been researching factors which affect benefits realisation, first for the Department of Health and Social Care and since January 2020 with a team of consultants from PMI and APM, with a focus on the human factors affecting decisions, judgement and behaviour in teams.
