A leading LGA councillor and the chief executive of two award-winning councils will be among the panellists discussing whether austerity can stimulate innovation in local government in a free, online seminar next week.

Councillor Peter Fleming, Chair of the LGA's Improvement and Innovation Board, and Sue Smith, Chief Executive of Cherwell District and South Northamptonshire Councils, will go head-to-head with Paul Bradbury, Group Business Development Director at Civica, and Sarah Gillinson, Managing Partner of the Innovation Unit, the not-for-profit social enterprise. Cherwell won the LGC's 2012 innovation award while South Northamptonshire took the finance team award.The two councils have a joint management team.

‘Will this era of austerity force change?' takes place from 3.30 pm to 4.15 pm on Wednesday 28 November.
