Aim:

This online event aims to bring together people who are working on reset and recovery plans across the region following the impact of COVID-19. It builds on the main objective of C-WorKS, that is, to share knowledge and intelligence projects and resources undertaken and developed across the region, with the opportunity to pose questions.

Who:

The event will be of particular interest to people in public health, NHS, voluntary, community and sector, academia and those working in areas which impact the wider determinants of health who want to learn more about work being undertaken across the region on the impact of COVID-19 (and the response to this) to inform reset and recovery plans. Note, this event is not suitable for those in sales roles or those representing pharmaceutical companies.

Introduction to CWorKS – Mark Lambert (NHS England & Improvement):

Mark will introduce how C-WorKS evolved from a piece of scoping work around the broader impacts of COVID-19 and how it aims for members to share their own resources, ask questions and proactively contact others who are working on the same issue. Mark will also reflect on its progress to date.

North East Health Inequalities Impact Assessment – Claire Mathews (PHE) and Catherine Parker (Public Health South Tees):

This work aims to identify health and social inequalities that arise as a consequence of COVID-19, the response to COVID-19 and propose mitigation measures against potential impacts on those with the poorest health outcomes. As part of this work a series of health inequalities screening tools are being developed to support local conversations to mitigate and prevent health inequalities. Catherine Parker (Public Health South Tees) will showcase how these have been implemented locally.

Impact of COVID-19 on health inequalities in Yorkshire and the Humber – Kristin Bash and Caroline Tait (PHE):

Yorkshire and Humber Health and Wellbeing team are working with and supporting local partners in identifying, mitigating and monitoring the impact of the response to COVID19 on health inequalities in our region. Three main strands of work will be highlighted:• Work with LKIS to develop and produce ‘Wider Impacts of COVID-19 on Health Intelligence Packs for local health partners’• Established a Y&H Health Inequalities Network to provide a central point of communication and connection on work and information related to inequalities and COVID-19 across Yorkshire and the Humber. • Produced Health Inequalities Impact Assessment focussed on medium- to long-term impacts of the response to COVID-19 for Y&H
