The 2012 SURF Annual Conference in partnership with NHS Health Scotland
Tuesday 29 May: Surgeons Hall, Edinburgh

Join us at Scotland's top regeneration event to help forge the links in an alliance for action. The diverse and participative conference brings together real experience, knowledge, resources and ideas for a better Scotland from all sectors.

For everyone working to support community regeneration efforts in the new economic reality, SURF's Annual Conference on 29 May in Edinburgh will:

  • Explore the real impact of the recession on community regeneration
  • Highlight the ameliorative responses in disadvantaged communities
  • Investigate the scope for a coordinated response in policy and practice

The programme is based on the outputs of SURF's 2011-12 case study work in Glasgow and Fife, supported by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) and the Scottish Government. Also:

  • Learn about new investment streams for regeneration including the People & Communities Fund, JESSICA (Scotland) Trust and SPRUCE
  • Take a reality check on the economy, community assets, land ownership, public services & the 2014 Commonwealth Games legacy with policy experts
  • Keynote speakers include Cabinet Secretary Alex Neil, the Norwegian Government's Thor Rogan, health inequalities specialist Dr Gerry McCartney and JRF Scotland Adviser Jim McCormick
  • Share your views and experience in voting sessions, interactive panel debates, soapbox corner, fringe exchanges, and much more!
