EcoProcura 2012, 19-21 September 2012, Malmö, Sweden

The EcoProcura 2012 conference, held from 19 to 21 September 2012 in Malmö, south Sweden, will address the question of “New opportunities to deliver sustainable procurement and innovation”.

The enormous potential of public procurement is continuously gaining recognition as a new policy tool to support the shift towards a resource-efficient and socially responsible society. The eighth edition of the EcoProcura conference series will bring together procurers from all levels of government, policy-makers, suppliers, manufacturers, multipliers and representatives from the European Commission and European Parliament.

The integral role of procurement in public authority operations will be explored and how this enables procurers, suppliers, service providers and subcontractors to effectively collaborate and build sustainability across the entire supply chain.

The conference will focus what the latest legislation, strategies, guidance and practical solutions mean to public authorities implementing sustainable public procurement. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and exchange experiences and ideas in interactive sessions of different formats and at the site visits.

The event will be hosted by the ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and the City of Malmö.
