Domestic Homicide Review Masterclass

Events - Public

Starting 21 May 2013 - 11:30 through to 21 May 2013 - 16:46

Created by

In April 2011, Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs) were given a statutory footing under the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004. The provision created the expectation that reviews should be carried out by local authorities following domestic homicides to ensure lessons are learned by all the agencies concerned.

Two years on, this one-day masterclass will provide members and officers with the opportunity to learn more about processes and outcomes, share learning from practitioners who have undertaken reviews and explore ways to improve how future DHRs are run.

This event is free for community safety partnership representatives from LGA member authorities.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Nicola Channon, Manager, Safer Devon Partnership
  • Brian Simmonds, Head of Community Safety and Health Services, East Hertfordshire Council
  • Michelle Lesbirel-Jones, Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence Reduction Officer, Liverpool City Council
  • Christine Christie, Director of Services and Pauline Deakin, MARAC Development Programme Manager, CAADA
