Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) provide a fantastic opportunity to deliver multiple benefits with a focus on managing flood risk, water quality and providing better places for people to live and work. However, traditionally the water quality value of SuDS is often over shadowed by the need to manage local flood risk – with SuDS you can have both!

With the requirements for  the Water Framework Directive looming large there is growing concern about the quality of our water bodies particularly in urban areas and the negative impact that urban diffuse pollution has on our rivers, streams and other water bodies. Evidence suggests that the SuDS philosophy and a wide range of SuDS components can help manage the quality of surface water runoff from our developments (as well as deliver multiple benefits).

This FREE susdrain seminar will focus on the challenge of managing water quality, but also look at the opportunities that SuDS provide looking at evidence, potential risks, monitored projects, planned and delivered schemes.
