The conference will address how we can ensure that community engagement and participation in Scotland is meaningful, inclusive and empowering.  It will include keynote presentations from leaders in community engagement practice and policy, showcase illustrative case studies from Scottish and English participatory budgeting projects and offer a wide range of workshops on current and emerging practice. Participants will contribute to the national consultation on the Community Empowerment and Renewal Bill and will experience first-hand a real life participatory budgeting event!

The conference will be addressed by Derek MacKay, Minister for Local Government and Planning and Ronnie Hinds, CEO of Fife Council. The event will be chaired by Martin Johnstone, CEO of Faith in Community Scotland.

The conference is being organised in partnership by the Scottish Community Development Centre, the Participatory Budgeting Unit led by Church Action in Poverty, Faith in Community Scotland and Fife Council.

The conference fee is £70 per delegate with concessions available for community organisations. More information will be circulated in the next two weeks with a link to the booking system. If you would like to indicate early interest, please contact Kevin Sayer, kevin.sayer@fife.gov.uk and booking and registration information will be sent directly to you.
