The government’s universal credit programme will begin rolling out to councils in October 2013. This free to attend event for LGA member councils will help all councils in their preparations for universal credit.

It will provide you with:

• an opportunity to hear form Lord Freud who will be outlining the Local Support Services Framework document
• chance to take part in the LGAs consultation exercise on the framework document
• an opportunity to hear from the local government face to face universal credit pilots - workshops will focus on

                    triage, shift to online, building the right partnerships, customer profiling

• access to useful tools and support networks
• an opportunity to hear latest thinking around the role local government will play in the delivery of welfare support over the next 5 years from
