Capita Conferences announce their Digital Criminal Justice System Event

Events - Public

Starting 28 Oct 2014 - 09:20 through to 28 Oct 2014 - 16:00

With radical reforms taking place to the criminal justice system (CJS) and the way in which policing is delivered, our Digital Working in the CJS Conference addresses the role of technology in underpinning this transformation.

The Ministry of Justice Improvement Plan published in April 2014 is focused on effectiveness, of which digital by default is a key enabler. This is your opportunity to take away ideas of collaborative working to drive efficiencies and handle criminal cases digitally from the moment a crime is committed through to the conclusion in court.

Attend this event to gain strategic advice and transferable learning on the CJS Efficiency Programme, using mobile technologies including body worn video and implementing virtual courts, in order to overcome challenges and barriers faced as a result of this digitalisation.

Expert speakers:

  • Keynote Address: Paul Shipley, Information and Communication Technology Director, HM Courts and Tribunals Service
  • Ben Widdicombe, Programme Manager, Criminal Justice System Efficiency Programme
  • Steve Goodier, Inspector and Body Worn Video Programme Manager, Hampshire Constabulary
  • Martin Wilson, Chief Inspector, Strategic Criminal Justice Department, Kent Police
  • Andy Gipp, Detective Inspector, Cambridgeshire Constabulary
