The DCLG Ministerial statement in December 2014 states that Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) will ensure that SuDS are implemented for major developments and working with Lead Local Flood Authorities is promoted, particularly around the approval of SuDS. Recognising the opportunities and potential challenges of this approach, this seminar will explore the interactions between SuDS design and planning, the work already being undertaken between LLFAs and LPAs and what the direction of travel could be.

Full details will be confirmed very early in the new year. This seminar will be of interest to those involved in the technical design and planning of SuDS in local government, consultancies and developers. It will reinforce the process and benefits of integration and provide an opportunity to share good practice, experiences and concerns. Delegates will gain:

  • A better understanding of the key principles and practices behind successful delivery of SuDS
  • An understanding of how the SuDS design process can integrate with the planning and development process
  • A useful insight into how some local authorities are working together to facilitate SuDS delivery (ie LPAs and LLFAs)
  • A chance to discuss the opportunities and challenges of integrating SuDS design and planning

Updated details will be posted on Flownet and susdrain - when available
