Community Energy Event

Events - Public

Starting 23 Feb 2015 - 09:30 through to 23 Feb 2015 - 16:00

Essex County Council in partnership with Colchester Borough Council are pleased to invite you to our Community Energy Seminar on the 4th March 2015.

Community energy is about putting people in control of the energy they use – it is about community-led action. The event is the second of its type following the success of the first event last year.

We are inviting new speakers this year to discuss different technologies, funding and case studies of how they completed their own projects.

Confirmed speakers:

Centre for Sustainable Energy

Brixton Energy Project

Solar Schools

Pure Leapfrog

Community energy projects could range from a new energy-efficient boiler in the local village hall, to a solar PV installation on the roof of the local school or even a community-owned wind farm. There are also opportunities for generating income for your community through government incentives.

Attendees are not required to be experts on the subject of renewables. The event aims to provide communities with expert knowledge on how they can put together their own energy project introducing them to industry experts who provide technical and financial advice to complete their projects.

Seminars will be followed by a free lunch with opportunities to discuss your ideas with our speakers.
