Alcohol Harm is a topic very much in the public eye at the moment and presents many challenges to policing. Alcohol contributes significantly to the demands placed on policing, health and community safety partners, impacting negatively on the wellbeing of communities and the health of individuals.

As the National Lead for Alcohol Licensing and Harm Reduction I am extremely keen to explore ways in which forces and our partners can benefit from current thinking around reducing the impact of alcohol on our communities. I would like to extend an invitation to police officers and staff and colleagues from partner agencies who deal with the consequences of alcohol harm. This conference will be of interest and relevance for BCU Commanders, those responsible for policing the night time economy, licensing officers, those engaged in wider partnership working and reducing alcohol harm.

The agenda supports the Government Alcohol Strategy’s ambition to radically reshape the approach to alcohol, supporting police and partners to form their own strategies. This is a great opportunity to share current thinking, evidence based best practice and practical examples from across the country.

My aim is that delegates have the opportunity to hear from experts in the area, listen to best practice and end the day more informed and enthused about the opportunities for them to reduce alcohol harm and make our communities healthier and safer.

I look forward to meeting delegates on the day,

Yours sincerely

Adrian Lee
Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police
National Policing Lead for Alcohol Licensing & Harm Reduction

Ian, Is there an agenda for this as I am interested, but need to see if the topics to be covered are relevant to my area. Barbara
There is, but the attachment didn't come through in the e-mail I was sent. If you contact Eliza Cook (above) then I'm sure she can provide it.
