Local datavores workshop 13 July in London

Events - Public

Starting 07 Jul 2016 - 12:15 through to 07 Jul 2016 - 16:00

Nesta and the Local Government Association would like to invite you to a research workshop about the role of data in local government innovation.

Nesta and the LGA began the Local Datavores research programme earlier in the year and are pleased to be holding this workshop, which will be the first opportunity to hear about our research findings and from some of the councils we have been working with. Nesta's Local Datavores research programme in partnership with the LGA explores how local authorities can use data better to transform services and improve the lives of people and communities. The research looks at ways in which the use of data and analytics can help local authorities to solve financial and demographic pressures over the coming years.

We have been using in-depth case study research of leading local authorities to understand more about the different use cases for data, the critical success factors for data projects and their approaches to overcoming typical challenges such as information governance. This workshop will feature presentations from these councils, providing an overview of their work. There will also be a presentation from the lead researcher offering preliminary findings of our research so far.

For more details and to register for this event, please visit: here. We are expecting high demand for this event and so places are limited to two attendees per local authority. For any queries, please, contact transparency@local.gov.uk
