I am delighted to invite you to a special Project Management Institute panel event on the 15^th July from 10am to 12pm in the Sheraton Hotel’s Stirling Suite. The event will be held on the eve of the INCOSE International Symposium in Edinburgh at which PMI will also be exhibiting and presenting.

The public and private sectors in Scotland, just like the rest of the world, will be facing multiple challenges in the next few years. When budgets are constrained and resourcing of projects is reduced, then the need to deliver more efficiently comes to the fore. One way to improve efficiency is by aligning the related disciplines of systems engineering and project and programme management.

This session will draw on case studies of best practice from infrastructure programmes in Scotland and explore how this synergy between these two skills can help organisations deliver more for less. The event will explore how infrastructure challenges can be addressed through integrated programme management approaches, considering in particular:

• Aligning complex project and engineering planning requirements
• How fiscal investment decisions impact on long-term needs
• Approaches to benefits realisation.
