Events - Public

Starting 21 Feb 2017 - 17:30 through to 21 Feb 2017 - 20:00

Created by

The event will be introduced by Professor Sheila Pankhurst, Deputy Dean of the University of Cumbria who will speak about the importance of project management to the University and in the North West.

The finalists of the APM North West branch sponsored award will then focus on what it means to be a professional project manager in the UK today.

The keynote presentation by Dr Ozma Taylor of NNL will feature an international perspective on the role of the project manager. Project management tools and techniques can be taught globally in a consistent manner, however the style of applying those skills is highly contextualised and culturally sensitive.

Ozma will provide an overview of the key cultural differences between the UK and China, and demonstrate the impact of those differences to project management practices. She will draw on her personal experiences of working in China and with Chinese colleagues in the UK.
