HS2 is one of the largest infrastructure programmes in Europe with a budget in excess of £55bn.  Key drivers for the programme are not just about reducing journey time between the North and the South but to be a catalyst for UK growth and regeneration.  Developing and delivering the business case will be contingent upon striking a balance between outcomes and delivery.  With a constrained public purse and much scrutiny over this high profile programme, HS2 have their work cut out for them.

Through the development of a non-conventional programme life cycle we are looking to

  • pragmatically join the dots across programme component’s,
  • proactively manage the interface risks between the components; and
  • Maintain a line of sight to achieving the operational outcomes and benefits that are key drivers for this programme.

This evening’s presentation will take you through the HS2 business case and programme lifecycle journey and seek to pose questions on how we could innovatively evolve our well established programme delivery methodologies to drive better outcomes.
