Professor Dame Carol Black

In February 2019, the Home Secretary appointed Professor Dame Carol Black to undertake an independent review of drugs to inform the government’s thinking on what more can be done to tackle the harm that drugs cause.

Dame Carol has seen first-hand, in prisons, schools, youth clubs and charities, the effects of increasing supply, greater drug purity and easier availability, combined with the loss of many protective factors – in effect a perfect storm.

She has now completed Phase I of her review and in this free seminar she will discuss her initial findings, which reveal a very tragic human story with far reaching consequences. Dame Carol will also share her vision of the approach that must be taken to tackle the illicit drugs market.
