Managing people convicted of a sexual offence – Considering the way forward
The new Council of Europe recommendations on the assessment, treatment and management of people convicted of a sexual offence
featuring
Kieran McCartan
Professor of Criminology │University of the West of England
In this free seminar Kieran will discuss the new Council of Europe recommendations on the assessment, treatment and management of people accused or convicted of a sexual offence.
Kieran will start by examining the context of the recommendations and why they matter, before going on to discuss them and their impact in the UK. In closing he will consider what debates are opening in the management of people convicted of a sexual offence in the UK and what future policies and practices could look like.
In addition to this HM Inspectorate of Probation will be publishing an insights paper by Professor McCartan on this topic in late January to coincide with this talk.
