Breaking down barriers to implementation of good practice

Events - Public

Starting 07 Sep 2022 - 18:00 through to 07 Sep 2022 - 20:30

Evidence shows that a lot of project delivery failure is due to well-established good practice not being implemented. The mission of the Praxis Framework is to break down the barriers to implementation and provide tools that ensure good practice is embedded in organisations and success rates increased.

The Praxis Framework is a community driven project, programme and portfolio management framework that is freely available on-line at www.praxisframework.org.

The presentation will start off by looking at ‘Cobb’s Paradox’: “We know why projects fail, we know how to prevent their failure – so why do they still fail?”

It will support this premise with extracts from a database of 1,300 lessons learned obtained under Freedom of Information and reference to the history of surveys of “Why projects fail”.

The main part of the presentation will look at the barriers to the implementation of good practice such as “Monday Morning Syndrome” and then go on to describe the practical content and tools now available to make good practice a habit within any organisation.
