The Projects and Infrastructure Authority have launched a government wide Project Delivery Capability Framework to support the development of a government project profession.

In May 2017, the Government Project Delivery Profession launched its Project Delivery Capability Framework (PDCF). The PDCF has been produced to support the capability development of all project delivery professionals in government. It contains three main elements:

  • the ‘career pathways’ that sets out the job roles within the profession
  • the technical and behavioural competencies aligned to these roles
  • a development section that enables our people to identify the right development for them.

The PDCF was developed by the Infrastructure and Projects Authority, as the home of the project delivery profession, and project delivery representatives from all the major Government departments.

In this webinar our presenters will walk-through the framework, which has been developed as an interactive PDF. They will explain how it enables project delivery professionals, and those interested in becoming project delivery professionals, to explore the different roles within the profession.

Alongside the PDCF, the Government Online Skills Tool (GOST) has been developed so that project delivery professionals can evaluate their current skills and identify areas for development for both current and future roles that they aspire to. The webinar will include a demo of GOST and how individuals can use it to assess their current skill set, identify what skills they need to develop for future career aspirations, and build a development plan to support different types of learning including on the job learning and continuous professional development.
