Accelerating Black Inclusion - Panel Event

Events - Public

Starting 27 Oct 2022 - 18:00 through to 27 Oct 2022 - 21:00

Join us in London at this face-to-face event to find out more around promoting EDI in your organisation and project teams.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) has permeated public awareness in ways never before possible. Global movements like #BlackLivesMatter and #MeToo, as well as corporate accountability demands, have compelled business leaders to make pledges and commitments to address EDI challenges within their organisations. But it’s not easy to deliver on the promises made. Hear directly from leaders with a long-standing history of promoting EDI in their organisations and what you can do to accelerate Black inclusion to foster diverse teams.

Organisations are at various stages – some have advanced EDI strategies in place while others have just begun their journey. For many potential employees, an organisation’s approach to EDI is an important criterion in choosing an employer – one that can attract, develop and retain the most diverse talent.

Within our profession, there is a genuine need to improve racial diversity. The Association for Project Management’s (APM’s) latest annual Salary and Market Trends Survey (2021) revealed that Black project professionals consider the project profession to be less diverse than their white colleagues. Despite there being compelling evidence that harnessing diversity is paramount as it can add more value to projects, unlocks innovation and drives market growth, this remains a challenge in our profession.

So, what can we, as a collective, do to address this issue? During this face-to-face event, you’ll hear from speakers from across various sectors and industries on how we can focus our efforts to create a profession that is diverse, inclusive and representative of society.

What to expect?

  • Learn about how organisations across various sectors and industries are driving the EDI agenda, specifically Black talent.
  • Insights into how you can promote EDI in project delivery.
  • The chance to ask questions and network with other attendees.

This event aims to showcase representation from various sectors and industries and is designed to support the growth and development of individuals who identify as Black. However, it is not exclusive to individuals who identify as Black.
