About this event
Age UK Camden was one of 14 Ageing Better programme areas, funded by the Lottery Community Fund, to develop new and innovative ways to engage people aged 50+ in their local communities. This included a dedicated outreach team working proactively out in the community, to find and engage the older people “no one knows” – these are the people less likely to be know to, or to access formal groups, activities, services and support. In addition to gaining valuable insight from older people themselves about barriers to engagement, the outreach service developed practical approaches and solutions to overcome and address barriers, including developing informal coms strategies to introduce and talk about services and support, and how to provide an effective nudge towards participation and take up of services.
Who is leading the session?
This session is lead by the Money Guiders England network and they will be joined by Jo Stapleton; a Good Practice Mentor / Outreach Specialist, based at Age UK Camden.

Technical Domain 1: Know your customer. “This domain is about understanding who the customer is and their needs – which they may or may not be aware of – and draws on many of the cross-cutting behaviours and skills that underpin practice. It requires the practitioner to develop an understanding of their customers, including background, circumstances, expectations and goals.”
Accessibility
The event takes place on Zoom. Auto-generated subtitles will be available as standard. The speaker's presentation will be shared in advance with everyone who registers for the event. If you have other accessibility requirements, please inform the hosts when you register and we will do our best to meet them.
