A Money Guiders Northern Ireland event

Join the Money Guiders NI Network for an information session with Co-Ownership around household support for your service users.

About this event

This session focus on household support and is the first of our 3-event collection Money Guidance – Household Support. Co-ownership will deliver this session.

Co-ownership is a popular solution for many in Northern Ireland wishing to get on the property ladder but don’t have the capital required for a deposit. They can offer support if you have had affordability, employment, or debt issues. Since Co-Ownership was founded in 1978, they have helped over 30,000 people buy their first home, and they currently have over 10,000 Co-Owners.

In this session we will cover the options that are provided by Co-Ownership to support your service users in understanding their personal circumstances regarding home ownership. The 3 topics that we will cover are:

1. Co-Own: Choose your home, buy as much of it as you can afford. We help you with the rest.

2. Rent to Own: Find a new build. Rent it from us for up to 3 years after which time you buy it from us.

3. Co-Own for Over 55s’: Many people in later life find themselves living in a home that has become unsuitable due to a change in circumstances such as their family life, location, health or other issues. The trouble is that often their current house may not have the monetary value (equity) they need to buy their new home and getting a mortgage to cover the difference isn’t an option.

Who is leading the session?

Niall McNulty
