How to Save – Becoming Financially Resilient

Training to front line staff and those working in the community in a position to help members of the public to understand savings options and the need to be financially resilient. Particularly with the current financial pressures, it is even more essential that families are aware of the savings options available and the need to create a savings habit.

About this event

With the current pressure on family finances due to the cost-of-living crisis, families on low incomes, with no access to any form of savings, with poor credit ratings will turn to high interest, illegal money lenders to help withstand life events that impact their income or assets. This session will look at savings options, the need for financial resilience and give alternative suggestions to build a savings habit that will help them withstand the pressures of increased interest rates, price increases and the impact of life events beyond our control.

The training is a 1.5-hour session, available for all front-line workers and those working in the community to help families who are not currently financially resilient and would struggle if their circumstances changed, it will also give alternative savings options. The training is aimed at anyone who encounters families, either face to face or by telephone.

Training will take place online (Zoom) with a presentation, breakout sessions and varied interactive activities and discussion.
