The Trading Standards team at London Borough of Tower Hamlets works to protect the borough’s consumers and support legitimate businesses.

The council's trading standards service advises on and enforces a wide range of laws designed to protect Tower Hamlet's consumers. There are numerous laws in place to protect consumers, including product safety, product counterfeiting, fair trading, food labelling and description of goods.

Who is this session for?

This session is for money guidance practitioners who would like to learn more about scams, including how to avoid and identify them.

What will be covered during this session?

This session will help to equip you with a better understanding of the scams out there, how to identify a scam from the genuine article and what to do if someone is the victim of a scam, Many people have taken advantage of the cost of living crisis

• The signs to look out for to identify a scam
• How to report a scam
• What to do if your service user becomes the victim of a scam
