On International Credit Unions Day we will hear from staff at credit unions to lean what they are, how they can be found and different services and products that might be available that could potentially benefit your clients. We will learn about different community projects and initiatives and how some credit unions support people depending on their employment sector.

Who is this session for?

This session is for:

• Money Guiders who work with people who might already be credit union customers

• Money Guiders whose clients might benefit from credit union accounts and services

• Money Guiders generally interested to know more about the subject

Learning points

Learning points may include but are not limited to:

• Understanding what credit unions are, different types and how to find them

• Different services offered by credit unions, while understanding there may be local variations

• Differences between community-based and work-sector credit unions

• Reasons to signpost clients to credit unions
