The Project Management Approach to HyNet

Events - Public

Starting 08 Nov 2023 - 18:00 through to 08 Nov 2023 - 20:00

HyNet is a ground-breaking industrial decarbonisation project, being delivered through multi-partner collaboration. The project will provide the infrastructure to  produce, transport and store low carbon hydrogen across North West England and  North Wales. There will also be the infrastructure to capture, transport and  lock away carbon dioxide emissions from industry.

The presentation is to cover the project management and contractual arrangements set up for the HyNet  consortium to operate efficiently and effectively during both the design and  implementation phases.

The infrastructure required to decarbonise industry is complex and requires careful integration of different technologies and industries. HyNet is widely considered the most cohesive, collaborative and advanced industrial decarbonisation scheme in the UK. It is recognised as an exemplar project by partners, politicians and stakeholders alike, and played a key role in the development of the “industrial cluster” concept.

Rachel will provide an overview of the project, the governance principles and project management processes  implemented, and some of the key challenges of managing such a complex  integration project.
