IN PERSON EVENT - GLASGOW
Come along to this in-person event to learn from other people's practice, share your experience and network with other money guidance practitioners. There’ll be opportunities to mingle during the break, at lunch afterwards and chat with exhibitors.
What’s it about?
Our four speakers will bring a variety of perspectives from urban, rural and island communities.
We’ll hear from:
- Chelsey Clare, Orkney Money Matters Development Manager, Voluntary Action Orkney
- Audrey Laing, Chief Operating Officer of Money Matters, Money Advice Centre in Govan
- Alan McIntosh, Service Manager - Money Matters Advice Service, South Lanarkshire Council
- John Pollock, Partnership and Support Officer, Scottish Illegal Money Lending Unit
Chelsey and Audrey will share how two pilot projects support pathways to advice and cash, Alan will talk about how South Lanarkshire Council helps people claim benefits and deal with debt and John will discuss how to stop loan sharks.
The event aims to focus on:
- how money guiders from different organisations talk to people about their money worries
- how they explore the often-interconnected range of issues people face
- how through dialogue they identify what the potential solutions might be
- how they help them through their journey with support agencies
And there’ll be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Who is the event for?
If you help clients, perhaps they are tenants, patients, people attending food banks or are seeking guidance, we’d love to see you.
