During this session with the Down to Earth team at Quaker Social Action, we'll explore the different types of benefits that become available after death and the eligibility requirements for these benefits.

About Down To Earth

Since 2010, Quaker Social Action has run Down to Earth, the only UK-wide service for people struggling with funeral costs. They’re there for people in the depths of grief, providing compassionate support to help them reduce costs and raise money from government and charitable sources. Since Down to Earth began, They’ve supported over 6,000 people across the UK struggling with funeral costs.

They also share insights and the voices of the people we support, campaigning for change to ensure that everyone can afford a dignified funeral.

Who is this session for?

This session is for money guiders who:

• Want to understand the different types of benefits claimable after the death of a loved one and the process for claiming those benefits.
• are providing guidance to people who have suffered a bereavement and need help understanding the financial support available to them
• are generally interested to know more about the subject

Learning points may include but are not limited to:

• The type of benefits available after the death of a loved one
• Who is eligible to claim those benefits
• The process for claiming benefits after death and the changes that are likely to take place for certain types of benefits
