This is an introductory course on complex program evaluation. By complex program evaluation we
mean the evaluation of programs that have several interacting components, including the:
· Range of possible outcomes
· Variability in the target population
· Number of elements in the intervention package
· Interactions between components and the program communities.
The aim of this course is to equip research and evaluation practitioners with the skills to evaluate
these complex programs, particularly in health promotion and chronic disease prevention.
The course material takes a pragmatic approach, understanding that evaluation of real world complex
programs is often driven by specific research goals, politics, finite budgets and time constraints. It is
relevant for people evaluating programs in government or non-government organisations or similar
institutions.

6 weeks: 17 April to 29 May 2017.

This is a free pilot program. Access to materials and expert moderated discussion will be at no cost.
