City Data Analytics: The Art of the Possible

Nesta, the innovation foundation, has a data event on 17 May 2017, and I thought some KHub members might find it useful to attend.

The event is designed to showcase and support UK regions that are using data analytics to reform public services. Nine areas will be presenting, and case studies will cover how data is being applied to address issues such as rogue landlords, alcohol harms, modern slavery, protecting vulnerable children, problem gambling and much more besides.

In the afternoon, local government and public sector staff who are working on, or interested in starting, their own data initiatives are invited to stay on to take part in three workshops. These will explore how to work effectively with data scientists, design and run meaningful evaluations; and navigate the legalities of data sharing.
