Stacy Cosham 9 Years Ago Thank you very much for sharing, I've now downloaded the full report to read! I think the questions you raise are very good points to be considered. Before I read the report my response is as follows: Yes we should be using a method of online voting, a golden rule about social media is to go to your audience and not expect them to come to you but our system of democracy is the complete opposite. People of all ages have far tighter time restrictions these days and a method of voting online would open up more access to democratic say and enable many more to vote who could be very put off going to a stuffy village hall feeling like you're being watched. Technology is changing all the time and there is a place for it in both sectors of Government. I'm not convinced it has to cost so much and could be built on a shared working basis linking into the private sector/third sector? There is a place for Knowledge Hub and I feel it is great for networking and collaborating. Such a formal space such as a cyber chamber I feel would be better placed elsewhere with a different tone and feel about it - but i'm not sure how or format. In terms of focus, I believe there is more media coverage of central government - how they are adapting (or not) and what they are using to engage. But locally there are so many different approaches it would be good to keep it 'locally tailored to the area' but also a common thread between authorities so that when people move the approach is not totally alien. It would also help more sharing of best practice and consistent policy setting. There needs to be more focus on what is happening locally for that collaboration to happen. Apologies if I have gone on a bit. Stacy 1 Reply as... Cancel
Liz Copeland 9 Years Ago Hi Stacy, Thanks for your response. Great to hear your thoughts on Knowledge Hub and how useful it is. I also agree with what you say about sharing practice locally - as that happens between local areas you can then start to shape consistency of policy together. I know groups in the Knowledge Hub where this happens really successfully on different subjects. Cheers, Liz 0 Reply as... Cancel
