Health Survey for England User Consultation is closing on 30 December

The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) is carrying out a public consultation about the future of the Health Survey for England (HSE).  The closing date for this consultation is 30 December 2013. Please visit http://www.hscic.gov.uk/article/3659/Health-Survey-for-England to take part.

The survey collects data about health, social care and behaviours such as physical activity, smoking and drinking.  It monitors trends in the nation’s health and risk factors and has looked at various health conditions including diabetes, respiratory problems and cardio-vascular disease. The survey combines questionnaire-based answers with physical measurements.  Blood pressure, height and weight, smoking, drinking and general health are covered every year.

HSCIC want to understand:

   ·        how the survey is used and what users' priorities are, to inform the future content and structure of the survey

   ·        how different people and organisations use the varied information from the survey and how important it is to them

   ·        what things about the survey you would not want to change, but also what innovations you would like to see

   ·        what information you would like from the survey over the next few years.
