The Department of Education published a map showing the number of children waiting to be adopted last week; the map is useful however I couldn't help thinking that this was a missed opportunity. The map received national television coverage but on finding the map I was disappointed to find a flat pdf.
I am aware that some of the data concerning children will be of a sensitive nature however a little more imagination could have produced an interactive map with links to local adoption faciltators/agencies. Maybe DofE needs to work with developers to produce a web page similar to Birmingham's Civic Dashboard?
