The value of meetings

Whether you like or loathe meetings they are part of our working lives, the effectiveness and value of these meetings can vary and will depend on a number of factors some of which are discussed in Blaire Palmer's What's Wrong with Work? The 5 frustrations of work and how to fix them for good. Blaire discusses the problems with meetings including poorly designed agendas and the purpose of the meeting not being defined and suggests how to overcome these issues.

I asked myself  how many hours I have spent in meetings during my 23 years in local government? A quick calculation provided the answer; 22hours during the last month, 6000 hours or 3.5 working years in meetings!

The infographic below was produced by meetin.gs, although it didn't really excite me I couldn't find a better one!
